Welcome to Hughes Herbals PDF Print E-mail
Sarah Hughes grew up in Yorkshire, did a degree in English Literature at Edinburgh University and moved to London doing several jobs that were just a means of paying the bills. It wasn’t until she started working for Neal’s Yard Remedies in 2001 that she developed a passion for natural medicine and took this further by gaining a BSc (Hons) degree in Herbal Medicine from Westminster University in London. She then moved to Ireland and joined Health & Herbs, a thriving integrated health clinic in Galway where she practices as a Medical Herbalist and Nutritional Therapist.

In 2009 she took a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy because good nutrition and herbal medicine go hand in hand and compliment each other completely.  She also started practicing from a second clinic in central Dublin, the Dublin Holistic Centre.

As well as seeing patients Sarah also teaches courses in Herbal Medicine and leads seasonal foraging walks both for the Slow Food group and privately. She has had several slots on RTE’s the Afternoon Show demonstrating how to make simple home remedies and offer advice on different health issues.

Good health is a gift to be treasured but often to feel energetic and brimming with life is only a vague memory and the norm is to ‘get by’. Good nutrition and herbal medicine can go a long way to restoring the body and mind to full health and vitality and with that regain a zest for life.
